Preparing Everything for Mass Production. On Track for September Shipment!

Hello to All the Beautiful People of our Big Jollylook Community!

Thank you all so much for the massive support we received.

Thank you for making our project a reality!

For the past month, we've been preparing everything we need for mass production. Let's go straight to the latest Jollylook Pinhole SQUARE project developments!

Our progress:

In the previous update, we said that we had ordered the molds for the SQUARE format development units from China and expected to receive them at the beginning of July. Now, all the molds are ready, and we have received ten pre-production samples. They are all very good quality and fit perfectly.

We tested the rollers and ordered the whole batch for the Jollylook SQUARE film development units. They are ready and on their way to Slovakia!

We expect them to arrive on the 10th of August and will show you some photos and results in the next update.

The SQUARE Fresnel lenses for the viewfinder have already arrived in Slovakia this week.

We have already ordered all the necessary metal parts: screws, magnets, hooks, springs, and other parts have arrived in our office.

The mold for the SQUARE bellows production was made for us by our partners in Kharkiv, Ukraine. The first test batch of the SQUARE Bellows has already been sent to Slovakia, and we expect to receive these samples next week; of course, we will show you some photos and results in the next update.

We have also purchased and prepared all the wooden materials for the bodies. And we are glad to say that our team has already started cutting them on the laser-cutting machines. 

We are also actively working on the packaging and the assembly instructions, we aim to make the packaging stylish and robust and the instructions clear and simple. 

  We are actively testing and taking photos of the pre-production sample of the Jollylook Pinhole SQUARE. You can see more results on our Instagram.

Our current plan:

We expect to start packing all the rewards at the end of August and shipping them out in September.

And, of course, we will post an update at the end of August to let you know how things are going.

The BackerKit Surveys are Coming!

Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

In the BackerKit survey, you will also have the opportunity to add film and add-ons, including all the stretch goals, at a discounted price.

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page.

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account.

The Progress, and The Next Steps!

Our progress:

For the past three weeks, we have been preparing everything for mass production, and we are super excited to share our progress with you.

We ordered the molds for the SQUARE development unit as soon as this campaign was funded, and today they are ready in China:

The sample parts from these molds are on the way to us, and we expect to receive them at the beginning of July.

We have also received and tested the samples of the rollers for the developing unit, they are the right size and quality, and we have placed the order with the manufacturer.

Once we confirm all the parts orders, it will take about two weeks for them to be manufactured and then about another ten days to be sent to us. The current plan is to have all the parts at our small factory by the end of July. During July, we will be cutting and packing the wooden parts. If all goes according to our plan, then we will start packing all the rewards in August and should be ready to ship on time in September.

We will keep you updated on all the progress with updates every 2-3 weeks during this process.

Next steps?

A few things need to happen before we can kick off production and fulfillment.

Here's a quick rundown:

• First, Kickstarter needs to transfer the funds, so we have the money to make the rewards, which should happen in the next seven days.
• Second, we must find out what reward you have chosen: The Stained Brown version or the Natural plywood version (that can easily be colored with markers or paint).
• Third, we have to find out where we need to ship the pledges. 

We will be sending our BackerKit survey out to collect this information during the following week. Our ability to make your order depends on receiving this information.

In the BackerKit survey, you will also have the opportunity to add film and add-ons, including all the stretch goals, at a discounted price.

We're beyond excited to bring you this first project update. In just 48 short hours, the Jollylook Pinhole SQUARE DIY Kit has reached its funding goal, all thanks to you - our fantastic 150 backers! Your faith in us, your unwavering support, and the belief you have placed in this project has filled us with gratitude and excitement.

You guys rock! Thanks for backing us, sharing our campaign, or even just wishing us well.

It's been a whirlwind couple of days watching the funding tick up in leaps and bounds. It's not just the funding that's been growing but also our community of analog photography enthusiasts. Each of you has become a part of the Jollylook journey, and we couldn't be more thrilled.
